Man Utd lead Chelsea in race to sign wantaway West Ham star Marko Arnautovic, say bookies

West Ham's talisman announced his desire to quit the London Stadium while on international duty.

The Austria ace revealed his ambition to play at a higher level, with his agent and brother Daniel admitting he is “ready for the next step”.

Leaving the Red Devils as favourites to be his next club at 7/4, ahead of Chelsea who are second in the running at 11/4.

The two sides lead Premier League rivals Tottenham and Liverpool in the market as they are also being linked by the bookies.

The forward is also being priced at 7/4 by Betfair to leave West Ham as soon as January.

Man Utd 7/4

Chelsea 11/4

Tottenham 8/1

Liverpool 10/1

Inter 12/1

Everton 14/1

Betfair spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “With reports that Arnautovic is becoming desperate to play Champions League football we have it as 7/4 that he will leave West Ham in January.

"Previous links to United make them the favourite at 7/4 – although it’s touch and go whether they will make the Champions League next year at this stage – while Chelsea are 11/4, Spurs at 8/1 and Liverpool 10/1.”

Arnautovic arrived at West Ham in 2017 from Stoke for £25million and has gone on to captain the club.

And under Manuel Pellegrini this season, the 29-year-old has scored five goals in ten league games for the Irons.
