The Mets are piling up postponements almost as quickly as injuries.
Sunday’s series finale between the Mets and Braves at Citi Field was postponed by the rain, owner Steve Cohen and the team said, the second rainout of the weekend. The Mets won the only game played, 13-2 on Saturday night.
Sunday’s game will be rescheduled as part of a single-admission doubleheader on July 26, beginning at 5:10 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game, and both will be seven innings.
Friday’s postponed game was rescheduled as part of a single-admission doubleheader on June 21, also beginning at 5:10 p.m.
The Sunday postponement is the Mets’ third of the week — after having Wednesday’s game against the Rockies also washed out — and their 11th of the season. That includes games wiped out by snow and COVID-19.
