Ninja, Dr. Lupo show off creative use for new Baller item in "Fortnite"

“Fortnite” released patch update 8.10 Tuesday and it featured a new vehicle called the Baller.

This vehicle kind of looks like the moving ball from “Jurassic World” or a hamster ball on wheels. But if you want the technical terms, here’s how Epic Games described it in its official release:

  • This single seat vehicle is found at Expedition Outposts and around pirate camp loot stashes
  • Use the attached Grappler and Boost functionality to pull yourself up cliffs or swing through the trees
  • The driver is protected from damage, but The Baller is vulnerable to enemy weapon fire.
  • 300 Health

Users had fun experimenting with the new vehicle, but perhaps no one had as much fun as Ninja and his group of friends Dr. Lupo, Tim The Tat Man and FearItselfTV. The group posted a clip of a new idea they tried out with the vehicle where they used the Grappler to attach to a person and then launched that person out of a cannon.

Look at how well it works:

Can’t wait to see this next-level pro-player top-tier rotation strat in the World Cup, @itsfearitself, @timthetatman, and @ninja.

It’s a brilliant strategy for squads, especially if you get caught in the storm. Using this properly will launch you very far across the map.

Also, it just continues to show “Fortnite” is willing to add new things to the game to make it fresh and fun for its users. Planes didn’t quite work out in Season 7, but maybe the Baller will be a hit.
