Noel Fehily set to be brought in as Might Bite super sub in Saturday's Betfair Chase

Nicky Henderson's stable jock has been out with a thumb injury since October 30.

De Boinville will find more when he sees a specialist on Wednesday, but is unlikely to be fit to race by the weekend.

The twenty-nine-year-old, who has ridden the Gold Cup runner-up on thirteen of his sixteen career starts, is likely to be replaced by super sub Noel Fehily – who won the race on Silviniaco Conti back in 2014.

Nicky Henderson said on his Unibet blog: "Noel came and schooled Might Bite on our new carpet schooling ground this morning and was very pleased. His exact words were, 'That was a very nice way to start the week!'"

"I've never seen him jump so well and, barring mishap, the intention is very much to run."

The Betway Bowl winner is a current 10-11 shot to lift Haydock's annual staying prize. Native River, who ousted the favourite in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, is second in at 100-30, while last year's winner Bristol De Mai is a general 11-2 shot.

Clan Des Obeaux, Thistlecrack, Politologue, Shattered Love, Outlander and Don Poli complete the possible field.
