In a fight many believed would be his last, underdog Allen pummelled previously unbeaten heavyweight Nick Webb in the fourth round.
So ferocious was the stoppage, Webb failed to get to his feet and was immediately attended to by the medical team ringside.
Pop sensation Louis Tomlinson posted on Twitter: "Get in @davidthewhiter1 !! F***ing smashed it last night. Thoroughly deserved!"
Tomlinson and Allen are both from the borough of Doncaster, with the latter from the small trown of Conisborough.
Allen is now reflecting 'what's next', while it is back to the drawing board for Webb after his shock defeat.
Allen's victory was on the undercard of Dillian Whyte's blockbuster triumph against former WBA world champ Joseph Parker.
That victory should no doubt propel Whyte into contention for a shot at Deontay Wilder's WBC strap, or a rematch against old foe Anthony Joshua.
And while Allen is some way behind that level currently, what he showed in the ring on Saturday that he has power to go with that raw talent.
The likeable West Yorkshire fighter also had the women of Babestation in his corner for his big night under the lights.
The girls left their own personal messages to the heavyweight boxer
Allen, 26, was invited to visit the girls after declaring his love for the channel.
And he happily obliged as he headed to the studios in April after tweeting: "I'm going to babestation and I'm f****** buzzing.
"I have dreamt of this day since I was 12, want to thank my parents for having Sky TV and going to bed early and enabling me to have this dream."
He obviously left a good impression on the girls because they are rooting for him against Webb.
Alongside a group video message, they said: "A HUGE GOOD LUCK to our handsome Papi De La Babestation for tonight! We're ALL going to be watching and rooting for you!"
One of the girls added: "Hi Dave, I really hope you your fight on Saturday, I'll be rooting for you and your big horn."
