Paul Pogba has reportedly held talks over a move to Barcelona.
The French midfielder’s future continues to be the source of much speculation following reports of a bust-up with Jose Mourinho.
He is yet to return to pre-season after winning the World Cup, with former club Juventus also thought to be keen on re-signing him.
But Tuttosport claims Pogba has met Barca technical director Eric Abidal to discuss a potential move to the Nou Camp.
United are unlikely to consider any deal now but could the situation be revisited next summer?
United move for Mina
Manchester United are set to turn their attentions to Yerry Mina after failing in their attempts to sign Harry Maguire.
Leicester are set to step up talks with Maguire over a new contract when he returns to training next week.
United have tried unsuccessfully to prise England World Cup stopper Maguire out of the King Power Stadium.
And they are now believed to be prioritising Barcelona defender Mina, 23, instead as well as Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham.
Spurs are proving tough negotiators for Alderweireld but Mina is available at Barca for £30million after just four La Liga appearances last term.
Martial hits back
Anthony Martial has broken his silence on social media after failing to train since leaving Manchester United’s tour of America.
The Frenchman, who left midway through the tour to attend the birth of his second child, angered Jose Mourinho by not rejoining the squad for the final two games.
The forward has not been back at United’s training ground since the birth of his son a week ago, which has led to Martial facing disciplinary action.
The 22-year-old faces a £180,000 fine – which equates to two weeks’ wages – as speculation grows he will leave Manchester United in this summer’s transfer window.
