Raphael Varane next club odds: Man Utd pull ahead of Chelsea & Liverpool as Real Madrid make bold transfer decision

REAL MADRID risk losing centre-back Raphael Varane.

The French defender has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Bernabeu, which expires in June 2022.

And there are suspicions that Varane doesn't plan on renewing his deal with the La Liga heavyweights.

As a result, Spanish newspaper Marca claim Real Madrid will look to offload the World Cup winner this summer.

Zinedine Zidane's side would rather cash in and find a buyer soon rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

And Manchester United are the leading contenders to secure his signature, according to bookmakers Coral.

The Red Devils have been installed as 13/8 favourites to sign Varane and have the financial muscle to afford his £150,000-per-week salary.

And Varane, along with Brighton's Ben White and RB Leipzig talent Dayot Upamecano, are being monitored.

Coral’s John Hill said: "With Raphael Varane's contract set to expire next summer, there is sure to be a number of Premier League clubs interested in his services.

"Manchester United top our betting to secure the signature of the Frenchman in a transfer which would bolster their defensive options."

Mauricio Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain are United's closest challengers at 9/4 to bring Varane back to his native France.

Chelsea are third in the betting market, available at 7/2.

Thomas Tuchel is considering his centre-back options and also has his sights set on Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who will be a free agent this summer.

Italian champions Juventus and Premier League leaders Manchester City are available at 9/2 with Liverpool trailing the field at 11/2.
