Real Madrid star Gareth Bale admits it's an 'honour' to be linked with Bayern Munich ahead of Champions League clash
Real Madrid take on the German giants once again tonight in what is the Champions League's most played fixture — with a place in the final at stake.
Ahead of the match, Bale, 28, was asked about a hypothetical transfer to Bayern, and told Sport Bild: "In football, you can never say never.
"Right now, I am playing and enjoying my football in Madrid.
"Bayern have a fantastic team and, in the past, have always been one of the biggest teams, who have enjoyed a lot of success in Europe.
"To be linked with a club like this is an honour for anyone — but right now I am a Real Madrid player."
One major obstacle Real Madrid will have to overcome if they are to reach a third-straight Champions League final is lethal Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Pole has been a long-term transfer target for Los Blancos, and Bale believes he would be a success.
He added: "Lewandowski has the qualities for Real Madrid. [He is] one of the best strikers in the world — and a guarantee of goals for Bayern and his national side.
"We know he is a danger in the games against us. He is a a superb finisher and for this reason, you need to keep our eye on him."
