Real reason why F1 legend Johnny Herbert and fellow pundit Paul Di Resta were axed by Sky Sports revealed | The Sun

THE reason why pundits Johnny Herbert and Paul Di Resta have been axed from Sky Sports' F1 coverage has been revealed.

It was confirmed earlier last week that the duo have been dropped two months before the start of the 2023 season.

Herbert leaves after more than a decade in the job, while Di Resta moves on having contributed since 2016.

And the Daily Mail claim their exits are down to Sky Sports looking to cut down their team.

The pair were at the end of their respective contracts and the broadcaster have decided against offering them extensions.

Herbert took to Instagram to confirm his departure with a photo of the F1 team and a caption that read: "Going to miss this team."
