Robert Lewandowski drops bombshell on Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac that he wants to quit the club.

The striker has been a target for Real Madrid and Chelsea in the past but his current club are reluctant to sell.

But according to Sky Germany, the Poland international is determined to leave the Bundesliga champions.

The 29-year-old changed his agent at the end of last season but remains contracted to Bayern until 2021.

Real are looking for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals after the Portugal star joined Juventus earlier this month.

And Chelsea have also struggled in attack and could lose Alvaro Morata this month.

The Stamford Bridge club are also considering a move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Last summer, Bayern issued a hands-off warning via a statement.

It read: "Robert Lewandowski has a contract with FC Bayern, which he recently extended to 2021. Bayern are not thinking about any move for Lewandowski. There are no talks with other clubs, and there will not be.

"If other clubs negotiate with a player who still has a long-term contract, they risk punishment from Fifa. The player’s agent also assured us that he did not hold talks with any other club.”

Should Chelsea buy Robert Lewandowski to replace Alvaro Morata?
