Saunders vs Andrade off as Brit is denied boxing licence

Billy Joe Saunders fight with Demetrius Andrade is off.

Saunders has been denied a boxing licence by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission to defend his WBO world middleweight title.

He was due to take on Andrade on October 20 in Boston but recently failed a voluntary drugs test.

The unbeaten Saunders is now set to be stripped of his WBO title, with the fight also thought to be worth around £1.75m to his camp.

And the Independent claims he responded "you can suck my p****" after learning his fate.

Fat-burning stimulant oxilofrine was found in the 29-year-old’s system, although he claimed the positive test was due to a nasal spray.

Saunders has been involved in a series of controversial incidents in recent months.

He was fined £100,000 after taunting an apparent drug addict in a sickening video before demanding she performed a sex act.

Footage also emerged of Saunders forcing a stranger to strip naked after pulling up alongside his car.

Andrade is still likely to fight on October 20 for the vacant title.

His promoter Eddie Hearn recently said: "The most important thing is that Demetrius Andrade fights for the world title on October 20.

"If Billy Joe Saunders is ruled out and stripped of the title, we will be looking to make a fight for the vacant world title.’
