The Open 2019: Rory McIlroy set to miss cut despite late comeback

Rory McIlroy is on the verge of being dumped out of The Open after failing to make the projected cut despite a late comeback.

The projected cut is thought to be one-over and McIlroy finished on +2, although the break off point may be shifted late in the day. The top 70 players progress to the weekend, including those that are tied.

McIlroy ended day two at Royal Portrush two over after finishing eight-over the 71-par course on the first day.
