Tottenham next manager odds: Rodgers now EVENS to replace Mourinho after West Ham defeat – Nagelsmann & Howe in the mix

BRENDAN RODGERS is the even money favourite to replace Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

Spurs continued their horror form on Sunday with a 2-1 defeat to West Ham – leaving Mourinho battling to save his job.

They have now suffered six defeats in seven Premier League games and their hopes of a Champions League return appear slim.

Tottenham are now ninth in the league nine points below West Ham who are now fourth, although they have played a game fewer.

They are 23 points behind leaders Manchester City while only 14 above third bottom Fulham.

They are however still two points and one league place above Arsenal with a game in hand.

And Rodgers, at third place Leicester is evens to replace Mourinho.

The Portuguese is the current favourite in the next Premier League manager to be sacked market.

The defeat to London rivals West Ham came after goals from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard and despite Lucas Moura's second half effort.

But Mourinho insists his methods remain among the best in the world.

When asked if he was questioning himself, he said: “No, not at all. Not at all. Zero.

“Because sometimes the results are the consequence of multiple situations in football and mine and my coaching staff's methods are second to nobody in the world.”

And he insists they still have a chance of the top four.

He said: “It is mathematically possible [to finish in the top four].

“When is mathematically possible, it is realistic.

“Very hard, yes, very hard, but mathematically possible. Of course our team has problems, and the problems they have reflection on results and on points, but I also believe that a little bit of that light, a little bit of that luck that you also need in football to win matches, has to be back."
