An eight-horse field will contest the 1400m group 2 contest led by Pat Webster’s Happy Clapper. Aloisia will head north from the Ciaron Maher/David Eustace stable but from then on it’s all Waller with Patrick Erin, Brimham Rocks, Tom Melbourne, Unforgotten and Egg Tart all accepting for the weight-for-age test.
A crowd of between 10,000 and 15,000 is expected as Winx races for the first time since her record-breaking fourth Cox Plate win in October. The Apollo Stakes is the first race of a farewell campaign expected to culminate in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on day two of The Championships.
The seven-year-old is also expected to run in the group 1 Chipping Norton and George Ryder Stakes next month.
She had a day out on Saturday, with a float trip from Rosehill to Randwick and a gallop in which she was partnered by Egg Tart.
"She looks after herself in trials and in her work," jockey Hugh Bowman said.
"But she knows when it's race day."
