Watford give fans a £10 meal voucher as a thank you for making journey to Everton

The Hornets face Everton in Merseyside later tonight, and the club have gifted their fans with a free pie and pint with vouchers to be handed out inside the turnstiles.

The clash between the two sides was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but was moved to Monday to accommodate TV coverage.

And Watford's Supporter Liaison Officer Dave Messenger was quick to praise those who had made journey.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: "The voucher is our way of saying thank you to those fans who’ve travelled in numbers, despite the game being moved for TV coverage.

"We also want to recognise the long journey for an evening kick-off and hope our fans enjoy tucking into a pie and a pint on us."

The generous offer has been well received by fans, with one tweeting: "Very decent, loving that. Up the Watford."

While another commented: "Well, thank you, I will! Very kind. 3 points would be nice, too!"

One supporter simply stated: "Brilliant from the club, will enjoy it."

Javi Gracia's side go into the clash 13th in the Premier League table, and are without a win since beating Huddersfield 3-0 at Vicarage Road on October 27.
