WWE news: Former WWE tag champion Joey Mercury arrested and forced to miss historic All In wrestling PPV event

The 39-year-old, real name Adam Birch, became notorious as part of J&J Security with Jamie Noble during Seth Rollins’ run with world title in 2015.

Mercury left WWE in January after seven years working on and off screen for Vince McMahon’s company.

Since then he has joined Ring Of Honor as a producer and was due to work on Cody and The Young Bucks’ All In extravaganza on Saturday in Chicago.

But the star, who held the tag straps three times with Johnny Nitro as part of MNM, found himself instead behind bars after he was arrested in the early hours of the day Schaumburg, Illinois.

PW Insider claim Mercury was found sleeping in his car outside The Marriot Schaumberg, where the pre-show Starrcast convention was held.

After police ran a background test on him, it was discovered there was an outstanding warrant out for him in Orange County, Florida and he was immediately taken into custody.

The wrestling website alleges he was held at Cook County Department of Corrections on with a bail at £1928 and a court date for this week.

Police also told PW there were no pending charges against Mercury in the state of Illinois but would not release details of his Florida warrant for arrest.

He was due to produce All In’s pre-show battle royal but his duties were instead performed by another due to his arrest.
