A rotund Pennsylvania woman has pleaded guilty to killing her boyfriend in an attack that included crushing him with the weight of her massive body.
Approximately 300-pound Windi Thomas, 44, of Erie faces a prison sentence of 18 to 36 years after pleading guilty Monday to third-degree murder in the death of 120-pound Keeno Butler, 41, last March.
She is slated to be sentenced on Dec. 21.
“It’s a good result based upon the facts of the case,” said Thomas’ court-appointed lawyer, Mark Del Duca, according to GoErie.com. “I think it’s fair for both sides.”
The victim’s sister, Sandra Butler, disagreed.
“I feel like she should have 40 or more,” said Butler, according to the news outlet. “She deserved life.”
The sister said her family is still struggling to cope with her brother’s death.
“My mother, she calls for him every night,” Butler said.
Prosecutors charge that Thomas killed Butler on March 18 at the couple’s apartment.
Thomas told investigators she cut Butler in the hand with a knife and hit him in the head with a table leg during a squabble.
Thomas also admitted that she smothered him with the weight of her body.
