BREAKING: Kingston University evacuated over suspected WWII BOMB

Police swooped on the premises after the item was found this morning.

A cordon has been placed around the scene on Fassett Road.

Kingston Police said: “The item has been examined by specialist officers. We have sought the assistance of MoD.”

According to Surrey Live, students are unlikely to be able to return to the campus today.

Two polling stations have also been evacuated.

The Kingston Lib Dems tweeted: “We’ve been made aware by Kingston Council that two polling stations in Grove ward have been evacuated due to an unexploded World War Two ordinance. Please see this thread for more information.”
