BREAKING Liverpool CEO in update as two Reds fans bottled ahead of Napoli clash
The Liverpool CEO has given a health update on a fan attacked ahead of the Reds Champions League opener against Napoli.
Peter Moore spoke to fans on social media after Steven Allen was rushed to hospital following an assault by home fans.
He and another Liverpool supporter were reportedly ambushed in a bar in Naples ahead of the game and bottled.
A friend, Matty Johnson, said on Facebook: "My mate Steven Allen is currently in Ospedale Cardarelli hospital in Napoli.
"He collapsed at half time due to significant blood loss sustained after being ambushed in a bar by Napoli fans."

After the post was shared on Facebook, Liverpool CEO Peter Moore tweeted: "I'm at the hospital with Steven right now. We will not leave him until we are comfortable that he's fine, so can everyone stop worrying for now.
"Trying to get him seen by a doctor, but there's a distinct lack of urgency here from the police and medical staff."
Last season's Champions League winners went down to a 2-0 defeat in their group opener away in Italy.
Dries Mertens scored an 82nd-minute penalty, while former Spurs striker Fernando Llorente exacted revenge after Tottenham's final defeat in Madrid to Liverpool with a second in the 92nd minute.
