Bullets fired at house ‘with children inside’ as forensics descend on street

A Liverpool home was fired at with bullets in an alleged drive-by shooting last night, Sunday November 29.

There were children in the house when the incident occurred, according to reports, but no injuries have been reported.

This morning officers are scouring the street for evidence after it was found the wall of the building had damage consistent with a firearms discharge.

Photos from the scene show a large police presence in the area, as roads were sealed off, writes the Liverpool Echo.

Scientific support vehicles were also pictured on the residential road, as a team of matrix officers paced up and down the street investigating.

A local resident told the Liverpool Echo that she heard "several bangs" last night and at first thought that it might have been fireworks.

The mum said she had picked her children up from their grandparent's house and got home just before the incident.

She described being "terrified" by what happened so close to arriving home.

Detectives said officers are going to remain in the area today as they carry out enquiries and speak to witnesses.

The force said that currently, no-one appears to have been injured in the incident.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Shortly before 7.30pm, officers were called to Woodlands Road after it was reported shots had been fired at a house on the street.

"Patrols attended and damage consistent with a firearms discharge was found to a wall of the house.

"No-one is reported to have been injured during the incident."
