Congressman who resigned after sex harassment settlement has new job
Disgraced Congressman Blake Farenthold (R- Tex.) reportedly has a new gig as a “legislative liaison” for the Calhoun Port Authority in Texas.
Farenthold — who settled a sex harassment claim with taxpayer funds — told a morning radio show on Monday that he will be the full-time legislative liaison at Point Comfort, according to The Caller Times.
“I’m starting a new job today that has an hour-and-a-half commute,” he said on 1360 KKTX-AM’s “Lago in the Morning” talk show. “You’re gonna have me listening and calling in a whole lot now.”
Farenthold abruptly resigned from Congress on April 6.
Politico revealed in December that the congressman told an aide he had “sexual fantasies” and “wet dreams” about her. Her lawsuit was settled for $84,000.
His new salary will be $160,000 and the company told the Caller Times that he will be promoting the agenda of the port, which serves as a shipping channel into the Gulf of Mexico.
The director of the port could not immediately be reached by The Post on Monday night.
