Courageous boy, 8, fought off mountain lion with punches after it bit him on head
An eight-year-old boy has recalled an amazing tale of survival after he fought off a mountain lion with his bare hands.
Pike Carlson, from Bailey in Colorado, was attacked and bitten by the beast when it sprang out of nowhere and bite him on the head near his family home last month.
At one point the beast had the little lad's head in its jaws but that didn't stop him putting up a fight as he reigned down punches and tried to poke the animal in the eye with a stick.

Pike, who has had to have two surgeries on his face after the attack, said: "I was just punching, trying to grab anything that I can, like a stick.
"I did find a stick and I tried to get it in the eye but soon the stick snapped.
The 30g wild cat dragged the boy to a nearby tree and pinned him down before his brother reached him and call their dad for help.

Ron Carlson, who ran to the scene armed with a knife, told TV station KUSA: "His head was inside the lion's mouth and I think that was what made me snap, watching him chew on him."
Eventually, Mr Carlson was able to scare the big cat away.
He added: "The whole side of his face was open. There was blood all over him."
Pike is expected to have further surgery to his eye, the station reported.
It is believed the animal, as well as another young male lion, have since been caught by wildlife rangers and put down.
