Dad, 32, charged with murdering eight-week-old baby daughter as her mum, 21, 'let it happen'

A DAD has been charged with murdering his eight-week-old daughter after she died from head injuries.

Michael Roe, 32, was held alongside baby Holly's mum Tiffany Tate, 21, who faces an offence of causing or allowing the death of a child.

The dad also faces the same charge as well as murder and wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court today, while Tate is due to appear on September 12.

Roe spoke only to confirm his name, address, date of birth and nationality and will appear at Brighton Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the home in Crowborough, East Sussex, on September 10 last year after baby Holly began suffering breathing difficulties.

She was rushed to Pembury Hospital where sadly she couldn't be saved and was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem revealed she died from a traumatic head injury.

Roe was arrested last night in relation to the tragic baby's death between September 8 to 11 last year.

Tate's charge relates to causing or allowing the death of a child between July 14 and September 11, 2018.
