Mother jailed in Dubai for drinking glass of wine on Emirates flight is now attacked by vile trolls who called her home with a bomb threat and told her they ‘wanted her children to die’
- Dr Ellie Holman was locked-up in jail for three days with her daughter, aged four
- Mother of three was placed under house arrest in the Arab kingdom for a month
- She believes trolls from Dubai are launching coordinated attacks against her
- She has received death threats from anonymous numbers and on social media
Death threats have been made to the British mother jailed in Dubai after drinking a glass of wine, she has claimed.
Dr Ellie Holman, 44, was locked up in a ‘foul-smelling’ jail for three days with her four-year-old daughter Bibi after flying from London to Dubai on an Emirates flight in July.
The mother-of-three, from Sevenoaks, Kent, was placed under house arrested in the United Arab Emirates for almost a month before being allowed to fly back to the UK.

Online trolls have targeted the dentist and aesthetics specialist and her family, while one anonymous caller saying her children would die and that a bomb was in her garden
Yet since she has returned to England, she said threats to bomb her home have made her life ‘hell’.
Online trolls have targeted her surgery and her family, while one anonymous caller saying her children would die and that a bomb was in her garden.
Other sickening threats made through social media include ‘I hope your children die. I hope you get put in jail for life. I hope you get raped by a criminal and have an ugly child’.

Dr Holman said she believed a smear campaign has been launched against her from Dubai.
She told BBC Radio Kent she had ‘never expected to get all of this’, with a bomb threat even made to her home.
Dr Holman said: ‘I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience and my heart wasn’t actually beating.
”Is it Dr Holman?’ ”Yes’. I thought it was a journalist.
”I just wanted to tell you that your children will die and there is a bomb in your garden’.
‘I was like, “how do these people know I have a garden?”. That was the first thing going through my head – so there is a bomb in the garden.
‘I was so distraught. I’m just waiting for the next thing.’
She added: ‘It’s been actually hell. Its unbelievable. I have people texting me asking me to take the pictures down from my social media that I have with them.
Authorities in Dubai are ‘targeting Sevenoaks’ and her business, according to Dr Holman
‘People in Dubai, mostly, because they are afraid. It is a state of fear. I’m being punished all over again.’
Authorities in Dubai are ‘targeting Sevenoaks’ and her business, with posts calling her a liar on local Facebook groups, she said.
Other anonymous callers have rang to ask if her relationship with fiancé Gary Holman is over.
Dr Holman, who holds dual Swedish and Iranian citizenship, was detained after arriving in the United Arab Emirates for a five-day holiday.
She had travelled to Dubai with an Iranian passport on a single-entry visa that had expired.
Dr Holman was then arrested by immigration officials after admitting she had drank one glass of wine on the flight from London.
She said her and Bibi were taken to a prison where they were forced to sleep in a sweltering prison dining room with other inmates and was left in the same clothes for three days as she tried to comfort little Bibi.
Dr Holman said: ‘I was mostly ashamed and guilty and petrified for her. If anything happens to her how could I survive and forgive myself?
Dr Holman also denied claims from Dubai authorities that she had been deported
‘She was so scared. The room was full of strange faces. I kept saying, “You’ve got to sleep darling”. I was literally sitting and guarding her throughout the night.
‘Sleeping was not on my agenda at all. These people sleeping there, are they going to wake up and stab us?’
Dr Holman also denied claims from Dubai authorities that she had been deported.
She said: ‘I was not deported. If you are deported there is a stamp on your passport. First of all they bought us our ticket. They apologised to us.
‘They came to the airport with roses for each of my children.’
She added: ‘I feel so let down. I never said I was above the law. I wasn’t drunk. I admitted my mistake, but what it cost me – I didn’t deserve that.’
