The 23-year-old perv – who can't be named for legal reasons – was locked up for three and a half years after kidnapping his young cousin when he was "drunk and horny".
The pair were staying at a home in Cape York, Australia, at the time of the offence.
He took the child into a bedroom and locked the door, before being stopped by sickened relatives.
He admitted to cops that he "wanted to have sex with the child and if he had not been disturbed by others he would have gone further."
He claimed to have been having "stupid thoughts", and that he was grieving the death of a relative at the time.
Locking him up, Justice Helen Bowskill said: "The child was struggling to break free from his grip and started to scream for help".
She added there was an "unacceptable risk" he will strike again if released from jail without constant supervision.
He will not be allowed to leave Queensland without permission, and will be forced to participate in drug and alcohol programmes.
