Five people were hurt in three separate shootings across the Big Apple overnight, police said.
Bullets started flying at 12:30 a.m. in the Bronx, when a man was shot in the lower back on Valentine Avenue, near East 178th Street. The victim, 35, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, cops said.
At 2:30 a.m., along Crotona Park North and Fulton Avenue in the Claremont section of the Bronx, a 27-year-old man was shot in the head while sitting on the driver’s side of a blue BMW by an attacker who fired multiple times, police said. The shooting victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to survive, cops said. There have been no arrests, said police, who didn’t offer a motive for the shooting.
And just before 4 a.m. in Brooklyn, three young men were shot as they stood in front of 1431 Fulton St., near Throop Avenue, authorities said. A 22-year-old was hit in the back, while a 19-year-old was struck in the ankle and 20-year-old shot in the hip, cops, said.
The circumstances of the shooting are unclear. The 22-year-old was taken to Kings County Hospital and the two other gunshot victims walked into Brookdale Hospital, an NYPD spokesman said. The three men sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were “uncooperative,” the spokesman said.
