Footballers struck by lightning during school match in horrifying footage

A video has captured the horrifying moment two schoolboy football players were struck by lightning before collapsing to the ground during a match in Jamaica.

Two young men were rushed to hospital after lightning struck in the 84th minute of a match between Wolmer’s Boys’ School and Jamaica College at the Stadium East field in Kingston on Monday.

Four players fell to the floor, but two Jamaican College players, Terrence Francis and Dwayne Allen, had injuries that appeared to be serious, with Francis being stretchered off the field after he failed to respond to treatment.

Both were taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), but the full details of their conditions remain unknown.
