ISIS threatens drone attack against the west after Gatwick Airport chaos

Terror group ISIS is threatening drone attacks against the US and the EU in a chilling new poster.

The threat comes after a drone near Gatwick Airport caused travel chaos and hundreds of flight cancellations.

The image, which has circulated online, shows a photoshopped image of a drone carrying an unknown consignment as it ominously flies over New York.

A tag-line reads: "Sender: The Islamic State."

Below are images of other Islamic State atrocities carried out against the west.

Police are still hunting for drone pilot who was responsible for the widespread travel disruption on Thursday.

Gatwick’s runway had been closed for more than 24 hours – forcing all departing flights to be grounded and incoming planes to be diverted to other airports, including Dublin, Glasgow and Paris.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said military and police "genuinely don’t know" who the culprit is.

Asked by BBC Radio 4 if a foreign power could be responsible, Chris Grayling replied: "I don’t want to speculate on that. We genuinely don’t know who it is or what the motivation was.

"I think it’s unlikely to be but at the moment I’m not ruling out anything.”

Earlier it had been speculated that an ‘eco-warrior was behind the Gatwick Airport chaos.

Whitehall sources said police were investigating the possibility of a "lone wolf" eco-terrorist being behind the drone attack, according to The Telegraph.

A source said: "An eco-terrorist is at this stage a definite line of enquiry."

On Wednesday, Donald Trump claimed that the US had ‘defeated’ Islamic State, after ordering a "full" and "rapid" withdrawal of American troops from Syria.
