Donald Trump could be ‘kingmaker’ in new party says expert
The Spectator’s US Editor Freddy Gray and talkRADIO’s Ian Collins discussed the likelihood of Donald Trump running for President in 2024. Mr Gray stated if the former US president is unable to run again he may play kingmaker for one of his children with Ivanka Trump being the current favourite for her father’s backing.
Mr Collins said: “If he can’t hold public office, he can’t stand at the next election in any form.
“So where would that leave his patriot party?”
Mr Gray responded: “I think he would be seen as the kingmaker.
The talkRADIO host asked: “Right so his name is on the ticket but he is not standing himself?”

Mr Gray replied: “It may well be his son or increasingly in speculation at the moment perhaps his daughter.
“I think it will be a game of cat and mouse between Trump and the Republican Party. ‘I can take all this support away from you unless you support me.'”
On Sunday. Republican senator Marco Rubio from Florida was questioned over the possibility of a primary challenge by Ivanka in 2022.
Fox News host Chris Wallace asked: “How seriously do you take Ivanka Trump as a potential opponent?”
Ivanka Trump discusses being ‘competitive’ like her father in 2014
Mr Rubio responded: “Well, I don’t really get into the parlour games of Washington.
“When you decide to run for re-election in a state like Florida, you have to be prepared for a competitive race, you run it like a competitive race, so that’s what I’m preparing to run, a very competitive race against a tough opponent.
“I don’t own the Senate seat, it doesn’t belong to me.
“If I want to be back in the US Senate I have to earn that every six years.”
