A heartbroken groom whose new wife ran off with another man just 16 days after their wedding had hit out at "doubters" before their lavish £30,000 ceremony.
Andy Mitchell, 40, and Meaghan, 21, tied the knot in Mexico – but less than week later he was stunned to discover she was having an affair.
Just hours after they declared "’til death do us part" on June 3, the groom posted on Facebook seeming to hit out at those questioning whether they had really be together forever.
"For all those doubters, get it up yi," he said, while describing his wife as "the most unbelievable looking woman I have ever seen in my, she looked sensational".
The gushing newlywed added: "No words can describe how beautiful she was, a wedding only most can dream about and we made it reality."
And on Valentine’s Day he had also hinted that their relationship was not without its struggles, when he posted on Facebook: "Against all the odds and all the doubters which tbf was probably every single person we know were only weeks away from becoming husband and wife.
"Starting to sink in a bit now, love you Meaghan, the only person I know that can draw every emotion out of me in 1 day ha, life will never be dull with you around and I wouldn’t change you for the world.
"Life is good. Happy Valentine’s Day. Ps, still think ur punching a tad bud."
But taxi service manager Andy quickly came crashing down from cloud nine soon after the wedding when he discovered his wife was being unfaithful.
He put his ring up for sale for £400 and posted messages shared between Meaghan and her lover.
Andy, from Kelty, Fife, claimed the affair started on her hen night.
The bride admitted the affair but claimed she had not slept with her lover until after the wedding.
Meaghan said: "We did not have sex on our hen do – it was after the wedding. I didn’t do anything on my hen night.
"We know what we’ve done and take full responsibility. I was young and naive when I first got with him."
Andy and Meaghan married in Akumal Bay Beach Resort, Mexico, at a lavish wedding attended by friends and family, on which they personally spent £6,000.
Photos of the wedding on Facebook show the apparently happy couple frolicking on the beach with their well-dressed guests.
But barely a fortnight later the groom decided to make a very public statement that their marriage was over.
He posted on Facebay Fife, advertising the rings: "Hi, recently I got married in Mexico on the 3rd of June and this was the wedding set I used while Meaghan Mitchell said her marriage vows."
He claimed: "However, six days later I found out she started having an affair on her hen night and it carried on for eight weeks through our dream wedding."
The previous day he posted a series of what he claims were screenshots of his wife’s phone that appeared to show an intimate conversation between two people.
Andy said he was more "shocked than hurt" when he found out.
He said: "We had no secrets. We trusted each other completely. I managed to get her phone off her and locked her outside.
"I read all the messages and took pictures. All her friends and family are embarrassed. They don’t want anything to do with her."
