John Leslie 'grabbed woman's breasts so hard they hurt in sex assault at celeb party'
JOHN Leslie grabbed a woman's breasts so hard they hurt in an alleged sexual assault at a celeb party, a court heard.
The woman who has accused the ex Blue Peter presenter of the attack at a Christmas bash gave evidence to the jury today.
She has claimed the former TV star grabbed her breasts with both hands, saying the alleged action, which Leslie denies, was "unwarranted".
The alleged non-consensual touching is said to have taken place in London's West End on December 5, 2008.
Giving evidence, the woman told the court that she spotted Leslie walking up towards her in the stairs as she was standing at the bar.
Recognising his face, she extended her hand and told him "nice to meet you".
She told jurors: "He shook my hand and he was smiling, and immediately he grabbed both breasts, one on each hand.
"It was quite confident and I was very shocked. It wasn't a kind of quick grab.
"It was a solid grab and then after a period of three seconds he let go and he was laughing.
"It did hurt. It was a really solid grab of my breasts."
The alleged victim, who said she had never met Leslie prior to the encounter, told the court she had the vague impression he was with somebody at that party.
'I WAS SHOCKED'
She confided to several people at the party what had happened but did not think to go to police at the time, the court heard.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was cross-examined today over her account.
She was asked about why no one told her they witnessed the alleged assault at the time or why no one suggested to her that she go to the police.
The woman said: "Twelve years ago it was different. I think we all know that.
"It was disappointing [that no one came up to me afterwards]. It was so shocking. I was annoyed because it was so brazen, so unwarranted.
"It's really bizarre. It did happen and it is completely bizarre."
Leslie, who presented several popular TV shows including This Morning and Wheel of Fortune, denies sexual assault.
The trial continues.
