Man seriously injured after 'knifing himself at an Asda in Leeds in front of stunned shoppers'

A MAN has been left seriously injured after stabbing himself in front of horrified customers at an Asda in Leeds.

The shopper left the store in a bloodbath after the horror unfolded at around 6am this morning.


Cops have now closed the 24-hour supermarket in Killingbeck while they investigate.

A stunned witness told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "A customer stabbed himself…they closed the store as police and ambulance were there and there was blood everywhere.

"It was shocking for staff to see."

Police confirmed the man had been rushed to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

A spokesperson said: "At 5.57am today (27/3) police were called to a report of an injured man at Asda, in Killingbeck Drive.

"Officers are currently at the scene.

"Incident is at early stages but does not appear to be an assault."
