A model whose mouth was savaged in a dog attack hopes £300,000 surgery will bring back her smile.
Brooklinn Khoury, 22, had her entire top lip and part of her nose ripped off by an incensed pit bull which "was shaking her head like a toy," she said.
The influencer's life-changing injury on November 3, 2020, came as she was set to star in her first TV advert but Brooklinn refuses to accept the attack as career-ending.
The 22-year-old from Mission Viejo, California, has told her 15,000 YouTube subscribers that she was undergoing ground-breaking surgery to repair her missing top lip.
One side effect of going under the knife however is being fed by a tube, MailOnline reports.
Brooklinn said: "I'm excited to get surgery to begin to heal again and work with this doctor but I'm also really sad to have to stop my life again and kind of heal, and to go through the healing process.
"I feel like I'm such an active person, so for me to be out for a little bit, it hurts my head mentally.
"Coming out of the surgery, I am not going to be able to move my mouth at all, so I have to have a feeding tube up my nose.

"I have to be on a liquid diet. I have to be in the hospital for five days after the surgery. It's gonna be a lot, so I'm gonna need all the prayers I can get."
Brooklinn explained that rather than restoring her lip to how it was, the results will just be the foundation thanks to a skin graft and an artery from her arm.
She added that it has taken her a year to find a doctor who was up to the task.
Brooklinn added: "They have to take a main artery and take the skin, fold it and put it put it on my mouth. The artery needs to supply blood so they're going to cut a little of my neck and take the artery underneath my skin and connect it to my lip so that I have blood flow for the new skin.

The surgery was booked for November 17, but Brooklinn is keeping her 73,000 Instagram followers waiting on how it went.
Judging by a brief clip inside a supermarket that she shared on Tuesday, the skater-turned model has now been released from hospital.
The complex procedure reportedly cost $400,000 (£300,000) and will need multiple additional surgeries in the future.
