A murder investigation has been launched after three people were found dead in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire.
Neighbours living in a sheltered living accommodation reported hearing gunshots.
Thames Valley Police said in a statement: "The Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation following an incident in Bourne End. At around 9.55pm yesterday (Tuesday, April 19), officers attended an address in Spring Gardens following reports of a disturbance.
"Inside, officers found three people deceased and evidence to suggest a serious assault had occurred.
"The deceased are a man and a woman, both in their 60s and from Bourne End, and a man in his 50s from Hazlemere, Bucks. All known to each other."
Forensics officers have been at the scene since last night, with witnesses reporting that armed police had descended on the address last night.
Detectives believe it was a "targeted attack", but say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the three deaths.
A spokesperson from developers Red Kite Housing told the Daily Express: "We are aware of an incident at one of our sheltered schemes, Orchard House in Bourne End.
"We are currently working with the police to help assist with their investigation."
