Oldest dog in care finally finds ‘forever home’ – at equivalent of 100 human years old

Named Tonks by the Dogs Trust, the 17-year-old was being cared for by the charity after he was found on the streets.

It launched an appeal to find a home for the loveable Jack Russell.

He is the equivalent of over 100 in human years and staff were worried his age would hold him back.

However, just two weeks later Tonks has finally found a new home.

“I really hope other people can open up their hearts to an older dog, they have so much love to give.”

Dogs Trust Kenilworth deputy manager Claire Rowe said all the staff “couldn’t be happier” that the old boy has found a new home.

She said: “We are so pleased that George has found the forever home he deserves, he is such a little character with plenty of love to give.”
