Shocking moment pedestrian is sent flying through the air after being mowed down during a hit-and-run in broad daylight

  • The clip was recorded outside of a restaurant and seems to show a confrontation
  • A man in a grey tracksuit seems to be taunting or mocking the black Volkswagen
  • The car seems to swerve towards him but he dodges and it hits someone else
  • The man struck by the car flips into the air before crashing to the floor painfully 

This is the shocking moment a man was sent flying through the air after being mowed down in a hit-and-run in broad daylight.

The man lands painfully after being hit outside of a restaurant on Ladypool Road, Sparkhill in Birmingham at midday on Friday.

It is unclear what caused the sickening collision but the black Volkswagen appears to deliberately target the man following an argument.  

The footage starts with a man in a grey tracksuit seemingly taunting the driver of the car.

He can be seen standing in front of the vehicle before retreating between a row of parked cars as it starts to move forward.

The black Volkswagen drives towards the man with screeching tyres and deliberately swerves in his direction.

You can see the man’s legs in the air as the car sends him flying in the terrifying video footage

The man in the grey avoids being hit but an onlooker standing behind him is not so lucky.

He is then sent hurling through the air before hitting the ground with a sickening thud as onlookers gasp in horror. 

Thankfully, the victim was not believed to have been seriously injured.
