This is the shocking moment a postman was pinned to a wall after jumping in front of his his runaway van to stop it from crashing into someone’s garden.
The courier was filmed jogging alongside his vehicle trying to bring it to a halt when it began to roll down the street after he apparently forgot to put the handbrake on.
As the van veered onto a pavement, the postman jumped in front of it to prevent it crashing into a wall and causing damage.

A postman was pinned to a garden wall after jumping in front of his his runaway van in York
Witness Scott James filmed the incident in York. He said: ‘I honestly thought it would stop or he would have let it hit the wall.
‘I was surprised he got in between – it’s just a work van.’
‘He moved straight away after it rolled back and got in the van and moved it off the road so I assumed he must be OK.’

Nicola James, who was also at the scene hailed the postman as a hero.
She said: ‘Poor guy is a hero. He has seen his van rolling, jumped in front of it so as not to cause any damage to his works van and then gets crushed against the wall.
‘Not only that after rescuing his van and taking a massive hit he went on to finish his round and take the mail back to his office. Not all heroes wear capes.’
