Prince Andrew accuser’s ex-boyfriend claims Duke ‘did abuse her’

The ex-boyfriend of the "sex slave" who has accused Prince Andrew of sex abuse, claims she confided in him about what she was forced to do.

Anthony Figueroa who was in a relationship with the then 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre claims that Andrew had sex with her on three occasions.

The 39-year-old added that Virginia "didn’t want to do it" and was "scared" of what Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein wanted her to do with the Duke of York.

Anthony believes that the fallout of the then teen’s meetings with the Prince ultimately destroyed their relationship, but he now hopes his testimony could make him a key witness.

Prince Andrew has denied all the allegations against him. But Anthony is backing his ex’s fight for Andrew to face questioning for the alleged abuse 20 years ago.

The 39-year-old told Mirror Online: "Being royal makes no difference. Andrew has to face up to the case.

"I remember the first time Virginia mentioned him in 2001. She knew she’d be meeting him and said she knew what they wanted her to do with him and she didn’t want to do it.

"She said she was scared and nervous. I told her she had to do whatever it took to feel safe."

Restaurant worker Anthony also claimed that Virginia was also repeatedly forced to have sex with Ghislaine, who is now facing life in jail for trafficking girls, while Epstein watched.

Virginia, now 38, will face a New York court in the next stage of her civil action against the prince.

She claims he had sex with her while under Epstein’s control in London, New York and on Epstein’s Caribbean island Little St James.

Prince Andrew has denied all allegations, and there is no evidence he was aware of any pressure placed on her.

However, Virginia’s lawyers have filled evidence demands, including medical proof of claims the Duke of York made in a 2019 Newsnight interview when he said he had no recollection of ever meeting her.

Virginia claimed that Andrew was sweating heavily as they danced in London’s Tramp club before the alleged assault – which he refutes, claiming he is unable to sweat.

The prince also insisted he was at a Pizza Express in Woking, Surrey, that night – now Virginia’s team want evidence of that.

Earlier this week the Prince’s lawyers failed to get the case against him dismissed on the technicality that the US court has no jurisdiction now that Virginia lives in Australia.

They’re set to try again following Maxwell’s conviction last week for sex trafficking and grooming young girls.

FBI agents probing Epstein’s global sex ring have made attempts to question Andrew as a potential witness for at least two years but the request filed with the Home Office has still not been actioned.

Anthony, who has given evidence in a previous deposition, added: "I’m not in contact with her, but I’m proud of what Virginia is doing. Andrew needs to be questioned by the authorities here. He should face up to it."

Virginia’s lawyers claim they now have up to six witnesses willing to testify she and Andrew met. Among them is Johanna Sjoberg, 41, who claims Andrew touched her breast while playing with a latex Spitting Image puppet of himself inside Epstein’s New York mansion.

Another witness, Steve Scully, who worked for Epstein, says he saw Andrew and Virginia kiss while on Epstein’s private island.
