Prince Harry ‘confused for Christmas tree salesman’ out shopping with Meghan

Prince Harry was confused for a Christmas tree salesman as he and Meghan Markle were out shopping, a worker claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were looking for a tree to decorate their mansion in Montecito, California.

A man from Isla Vista, California, said the couple dropped by a shop he works at when there was just one family left milling about.

James Almaguer tweeted: "Meghan and Prince Harry came into my work today and we sold them their Christmas Tree.

"It was anticlimactic, but a very, very interesting experience.

"We had our lot empty when they got there – their agent promoted them a good time to come instead of us shutting it down.

"There was one family in there and their stoked little son ran through trees up to Harry and asked if he worked here, not knowing who that is.

"They seemed like very nice people honestly. Meghan sounds very kind and Harry sounded and acted like a chill lad honestly.

“I’m really glad they liked our trees. We got the best we could get…very appreciative."

Harry and Meghan were shopping at Big Wave Dave’s Christmas Trees & Pumpkin Patch in Santa Barbara, The Sun reported.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace announced TheQueenandPrince Philipwill break royal tradition to spend Christmas at Windsor rather than at Sandringham.

The royals typically gather at Sandringham on Christmas Eve before going to church together the next day.

But the usual Christmas Day church service there was considered unviable because it might attract crowds, a royal source told Reuters.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will instead spend Christmas “quietly in Windsor” during the coronavirus pandemic.

The royals' Christmas tradition at Sandringham involves exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve – in a nod to their German ancestry.

And because of their wealth, they usually give each other tongue in cheek gifts.
