Puppy slips down cliff during hike before woman plummets 30ft to bottom
A woman fell 30ft down a cliff as she tried to rescue her terrified puppy on a hike.
Three-month-old Blue lost his footing on the edge of a road near the Bridal Veil Falls hike in Colorado, the US.
The pooch was injured and landed on a small ledge 15ft down the trail leading to a waterfall.
The 25-year-old woman, from Denver in Colorado, made her way down to Blue and another man from the group got to the bottom of the cliff.
She slipped during the rescue attempt, and the man broke her fall.
Officials from San Miguel County Search and Rescue anchored a rope to the woman and pulled her back towards the road.
She suffered traumatic but non-life-threatening injuries, CBS Denver reports.
The man sustained minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.
Chris White, search and rescue coordinator for the San Miguel Sheriff's office told Newsweek : "It was a big fall, she would have likely been very seriously injured or killed after that fall.

"He didn't flinch and he caught her and broke her fall."
Wiley Holbrooke, 18, attached Blue to his belt and got him back to his owners.
He said: “He was super brand new but he has a great rock climbing skill set.”

Blue did not sustain any injuries.
Susan Lilly, a public information officer for the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office and EMT (emergency medical technician), added: “We’re looking around saying, ‘How did this happen?’”
“When we started to put the pieces of the puzzle together, we realised she fell from up there off the cliff.”
The rescue operation lasted three and a half hours.
