Qatar uses gene mapping in bid to improve national health

Qatar is the second country, after Iceland, to have the capability to sequence the genomes of the entire population, and researchers view it as a unique opportunity.

    Doctors in Qatar are hoping to improve everyone’s health by mapping out the genetic make-up of the entire population. The Sidra medical research centre is using state-of-the-art technology to work on new ways to prevent and treat illness.
