This is the real-life Dr Doolittle who cuddles with lion cubs, hangs out with monkeys and swims with sharks.

Brunette beauty Isabella Peschiera is just 21-years-old but has already used her special way with animals to care for more than 50 species.

The young animal whisperer told how she had an affinity with wildlife since she was a little girl.

Isabella, who is a zookeeper at the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami, Florida, said: "There's nothing like being welcomed by a tiger with a chuff or being hugged by some of the primates.

"It's amazing to watch these animals grow and getting to see how they all have different personalities."

Isabella's special talent has seen her compared to iconic film character Dr Doolittle, based on the children's story of the same name.

In the story, the titular character is a doctor who realises he has the ability to talk to animals.

Isabella's Instagram page, where she has more than 32,000 followers, is filled with pictures of her getting up close and personal with a range of different animals.

They include her hugging a lion, giving a piggyback to a chimpanzee, feeding a tiger and having a snake wrap around her neck.

Isabella also spends her days horseback riding, feeding flamingos and painting with monkeys.

She said: "I always knew I wanted to work with animals.

"I helped raise a chimpanzee at our facility named Limbani, and he's smarter than most people I know."

She went on: "I decided to get involved because I believe in protecting animals and being able to educate about exotics, like rare and endangered species.

"And I wouldn't trade this experience for anything."
