Royal wedding LIVE: Latest updates on Meghan Markle’s father as her mother flies to the UK
Thomas Markle is set to miss the wedding of his daughter Meghan and Prince Harry due to heart surgery, it has been reported.
The couple are due to tie the knot on Saturday in a ceremony in Windsor but on Monday it was claimed Meghan’s father would not give her away due to concerns he had embarrassed her or the royal family over photographs apparently posed with paparazzi.
Mr Markle is said to have had a heart attack one week ago and it has been claimed he will undergo surgery at 7.30am local time on Wednesday, meaning he will miss the ceremony.
He reportedly told TMZ: ‘They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed.’
Ms Markle’s mother Doria Ragland has today been pictured leaving LAX airport from where she is flying to the UK in time for Saturday’s ceremony.

Meghan Markle has reportedly persuaded her ex-husband to pull the plug on an ’embarrassing’ TV show based on her relationship with Prince Harry.
According to reports, close friends of the bride-to-be held a meeting with Trevor Engelson in a bid to dissuade him from developing the TV series that he had been working on with Fox.
Engelson was reportedly working on a new sitcom show about a divorced American mother who moves to London to marry a British royal.
An unnamed TV executive told the Sun Online: ‘Trevor’s project is currently on hold after several months of anguish for Meghan.’

The 61-year-old yoga instructor and social worker was picked up by an SUV at her California home before heading to Los Angeles International Airport, where her vehicle was seen going through a private entrance.

Meghan Markle’s father has once again pulled out of his daughter’s big day, revealing that he needs to have major heart surgery on Wednesday morning.
Mr Markle, 73, told TMZ that doctors will ‘go in and clear blockage, repair damage, and put a stent where it is needed’ during the operation.
