She added: ‘I haven’t really spoken to my husband. I’m seeing to all the children.’

The footage itself, which went viral after being posted on Twitter, showed the 6ft 4in tall rugby player in an alleyway with his trousers down performing a sex act on a woman.

After the video was shared a furious Lauren posted: ‘Can I make this VERY clear that this is NOT me!!!!!! We have three children one of whom is almost 15 and she doesn’t need to see things like this all over social media!’

Speaking last night Lauren said she was looking after her children on her own, and added: ‘There’s nothing I want to say to be honest. I don’t think anything I say is going to help.’

The Sun reports her husband, who has two caps for England, has been kicked out of their family home.

Castleford Tigers said that he was ‘incredibly remorseful for his actions’.

He made a statement through the club, which read: ‘Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly apologise to my family and friends for my actions.

Castleford Tigers said it was dealing with the issue internally and later posted an apology from Westerman on its website

Originally from Pontefract, West Yorkshire, Westerman started his career with Castleford Tigers in 2007 after graduating from junior club the Featherstone Lions.

He played at Castleford for three years until switching to Hull FC in 2011 in one of the highest transfer fees the club had ever paid, before moving to Warrington in 2015 for a three-year deal worth £150,000.

After a brief stint playing for Toronto Wolfpack in 2017 and returned to his old club Hull FC citing his love for the club and coach Lee Radford among the reasons despite enthusiasm from other clubs.

In 2019 while playing for Hull, Westerman shocked viewers when he slapped his dislocated knee back into place while lying prone on the floor, before playing on.

After his knee buckled beneath him following a tackle, Westerman was visibly in pain and cried out in agony.

But TV replays showed him quickly hit his crooked knee in an attempt to get it back into place.

He managed to carry on playing, even though Hull FC fell to an 18-10 defeat in the derby clash, earning praise from viewers and Hull boss Radford.

In 2022, he returned to his first club, Castleford Tigers, on a two-year contract.

At the time, a thrilled Westerman told the BBC: ‘Since I was a young kid, I have always supported Cas [Castleford].

‘My whole family around me support Cas so it will be good, and it is something I am really looking forward to.

Twitter users were sent into a frenzy by the x-rated video after it was shared over the weekend

‘From being a kid and supporting them to now, where they are up there with some quality players, it is really exciting.

‘The standard is really high now and I just want to get there and play well for my hometown club next year.’

Since the graphic video appeared online yesterday, media users have quick to share memes about the affair.

Westerman’s Wikipedia page was altered to include the jibe: ‘He is known to frequent the alleyway next to Greggs Bakery in Pontefract town centre.’

Other Twitter users broke out in mirth over the Tigers’ star’s apparent fall from grace.

One person said: ‘No matter how bad your Monday is at least you’re not Joe Westerman rocking up at training today.’

A second added: ‘By far the worst thing to come from the Joe Westerman situation is my own mother sending me a meme about it.’
