The former Wagner man, however, has reportedly explained how Wagner was set up as an extra wing of Putin’s armed forces.
Led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, who goes by the name of ‘Putin’s chef’, he explained how Wagner had roped in mercenaries and convicts to do battle in Ukraine.
He also reportedly gave insight into Wagner’s funding and explained how it has carried out special operations in the Donbas region of Ukraine.
Osechkin said: “Each of these people will testify about war crimes."
“I hope they will have the opportunity to cooperate with the international investigation and testify against Yevgeny Prigozhin and other persons in the Putin regime.”
In a strange twist of fate, Osechkin claims they both arrived at the same time with different, still unclear, backstories.
He said each was suspicious of the other, to begin with.
“The French police and airport security also had suspicions,” said Osechkin.
“The situation is unusual.”
