A video has emerged online that appears to show a shark swimming close to a beach in the UK.
The footage posted on Twitter shows a frightening fin moving menacingly in the sea at East Preston beach in West Sussex.
Social media users quickly responded to the startling clip – some with humour, a fair few in terror and others declaring scepticism.

The video lasts for 51 seconds and has been viewed almost 10,000 times, with an accompanying voice saying: "It's definitely a dolphin fin or a shark, not a seal."
Not many people, judging by the comments left underneath, would have been willing to take a swim out to check which it might be.
Two people simply exclaimed "Yikes!" and "Blimey! It's Jaws!"
Another commenter insisted: "Well that's me never going in the sea again then."
And a third admitted: "It's really quite unnerving".
Plenty of others, though, replied in a more light-hearted manner with one person joking, "Going to need a bigger boat" in reference to a famous line from the Hollywood blockbuster Jaws.

There were also video clips posted of the legendary cinematic shark wreaking its havoc during Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic, whilst another typed: "Ner-num…ner-num…ner-numnuh….nernumnuh….DUDDLEAAAH!!! (chills)" in an effort to recreate the terrifying music that preceded every Jaws attack in the movie.
Some, though, did not want to believe their own eyes, felt they had been fooled by a spot of camera trickery or reckoned there was an alternative explanation for what had been filmed.
But suggestions such as "it's old pipe" and a "sleeping seal most likely" seemed less credible, given that the fin is filmed moving at a steady pace in one direction.
One person even ventured whether it could be a mermaid but, if it wasn't a shark, then perhaps the most feasible and sensible assumption came from one person, who wrote: "Dolphin. Still mackerel about. They chase whitebait close to shore & Dolphins follow & scoop them up."
The possible shark sighting follows reports of others this summer in Folkestone and Falmouth.
