SHOCK video shows flames engulfing multiple homes in the Laguna Niguel area in Orange county.
The fire is raging near a water treatment plant near Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
A water-dropping helicopter was brought on the scene to combat the flames with crews on the scene requesting a fixed-wing aircraft to assist.
At least 12 homes have caught fire in Laguna Niguel due to the wildfire, which has been fueled by strong winds.
Airtankers have arrived in the area and are expected t make airdrops.
Voluntary evacuations were issued by the Laguna Beach Police Department for residents living in the nearby area.
However, due to the urgency of the fire, certain communities have started to issue mandatory evacuations. Residents are expected to make the proper preparations for their families.
“OCFA is on scene of an approximate 3 acre vegetation fire in Aliso Woods Canyon,” wrote the Orange County Fire Authority in a tweet.
“We are in unified command with @LagunaBeachFD. We have heavy resources on the ground and in the air. We'll release additional information as it becomes available.”
