The bull scrambles to its feet, carrying Vasquez with it, tossing the unconscious mounted rider around like a rag doll.
After a few seconds the bull then throws Vasquez off its back and the 28-year-old rider lands motionless on the floor in a sickening crash.
While the bull is distracted, dozens of men rush to the rider’s aid and pull him clear of the arena.
Red Cross worker Marina Villalobos said that Artavia Vasquez was collected by an ambulance in a critical condition.
