Firefighters are battling a car fire inside the Battery Tunnel, authorities said.
The FDNY responded shortly before 12:15 p.m. to the blaze in the Brooklyn-bound side of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, a spokesman said.
Part of the tunnel was closed while firefighters work to extinguish the flames. Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.
