As if standing in front of a class of students all day wasn't already difficult enough, it can become completely mortifying if you also factor in an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.
Unfortunately for one teacher, the blunder wasn't pointed out until one student left a note on his desk at the end of class informing him that he had a hole in his pants.
Greg Donitzen, who works as a science teacher in Washington D.C., posted a cringe-worthy video on TikTok, writing that he was "thinking about that note a student left on my desk at the end of the day".
The video, which has been viewed 1.6 million times, shows the unfortunate Greg with his hand over his mouth in shock as he displays the note, which had been written on a paper towel.
It read: "You have a hole in your pants. All the kids are talking about it."
In a gesture of being a good sport, Greg then showed a photo of his trouser, and sure enough the back had split open a little to display his underwear in a nightmare scenario.
Greg posted the video asking other teachers to share their own mortifying moments, asking: 'Embarrassing teacher stories… this happen to anyone else?'
And others were happy to oblige, with one replying: "I had a student come up to me after class to let me know I should stop raising my arms because I had really bad sweat stains in my pits…"
A second wrote: "Haha. Yep have had that. Taught a class one day with zipper down almost the whole time."
Someone else suggested: "My seventh grade history teacher ripped his pants in the middle of class. He put duct tape over them for the rest of the day."
But others pointed out the note was a sign that Greg is a good teacher, as one replied: "That kid respects you. He/she didn't like that the kids were talking about it."
